Application
Fasting: abstinence of eating or other activity. Whenever we fast, we
demonstrate to God that the spiritual is more important than the physical.
Mat 6:16-18 (“When you fast,” not if)
Digestion: we daily eat food, digest, the body absorbs and it literally
becomes part of us. We should follow the same process for Jesus and God’s
Word. Daily intake, digestion, chewing on His word, meditating,
memorizing, praying over it until it becomes part of us.
Spiritual life is more important than physical life. Mat 10:28. So, we need
to take our spiritual nourishment even more seriously than we do our
physical.
